The current year is ending in 2 days… and the new year is coming in soon….. How do you spend these last few days and the first few days of the new year.
Is it life as usual? Is it partying, festivities, new clothes, food and feasting or is it time to reflect and take stock and make plans for the coming year.
I always look forward to the new year. It’s as though I expect fresh energy, fresh new ideas, new friends, new adventures, new businesses, new travels, etc. I am always expectant of some new magic in my life. I have been disappointed for some of those years. But more often than not, there is always something new that opens up the way I experience the world.
This new year I want to share something that can help you see and experience the world very differently. This is a formula for well-being and happiness and I call it the “ABC Formula for Well-being”
What is this ABC Formula for Well-being?
A stands for Attention.
Pay attention to the Here & Now. Stay in awareness in the moment and pay attention to what is happening within you and without you. As you shine this laser light of attention to each moment of your life, the experience is far more enriching and exciting.
There is a big difference between awareness and attention. You can be aware that the sun is rising. But when you pay attention to the sun rise, you see the sun rising, the play of colours on the clouds and your horizon, you hear the early morning sounds, you feel the breeze and the warmth of the sunlight on your skin, you smell the earth, the sky and all the elements that contribute to this moment of the sun rising and you may also taste the salty air or fresh air depending on where you are when you are experiencing the sun rise.
Pay attention to your mind, your emotions, your body, the people you are interacting all that you come in contact with. Feel the moment completely and make the choices that will lead you to the destiny you seek for yourself
B stands for Breathe
Breathe in what you want to become. Are you seeking wealth, great relationships, fit and healthy body, travel, adventure, contribution to society or connection with your Creator? Whatever you are seeking, inhale it with every breath that you take in. And with every breathe that you exhale, send out all that does not serve you any more. Your tiredness, your negativity, your prejudices, your weaknesses and doubts.
Inhale what you want to become. Exhale what you do not want to become.
With every breath, you will rebuild your life to what you seek to manifest in your life.
C stands for Compassion
Compassion can heal the world. So obviously it can heal you first. Charity begins at home. So does compassion. Be compassionate to yourself. Forgive yourself for all the shortcomings that your beat yourself up with. Forgive yourself for all the mistakes or weaknesses that you may have exhibited in the past. Shower yourself with love and compassion till it overflows your heart and spreads out to all those who are close to you and then ripples out to encompass the whole world.
Compassion can deepen and widen your heart till it embraces the whole world in its loving embrace. The world will become a better place when a tsunami of compassion overtakes it
Love yourself. Love everyone in your life. Love all animate beings. Love all inanimate objects. The world is one and every person and everything in this world can do with more compassion. So bring it on and let it flow.
When you practice these three letters - A, B, and C, your life will flower and your life experience will be in full technicolor. Go live a fuller life. Practice the ABC of Well-being.
